Phyllis Broadbent was a founding member of The Business Forum who contributed her time, talent and enthusiasm to grow the organization. Phyllis died of cancer October 4, 1994.

Members who knew Phyllis remember her vivacity, drive, positive attitude and gracious nature. "She always had a smile on her face and spoke with great enthusiasm about life. She was efficient and knew how to get a job done with quiet skill and tenacity."

In 1993, TBF recognized Carol Wiskowski for her dedication and hard work on behalf of the organization. A year later, the Board established that the award for members whose contributions to TBF are "above and beyond" would be renamed the Phyllis Broadbent Award.

At the November 1994 luncheon meeting, Phyllis was the posthumous recipient of TBF's second service award. Phyllis' mother accepted the award on her behalf.
