Committees

In order to work toward supporting and strengthening women in our community, providing opportunities to network, and professional development opportunities, we rely on our committees to organize events, engage with membership, fundraise, manage our scholarship program, and find impactful ways to participate in the community.

Members are invited to join a committee that meets their own personal vision and talents; we welcome all who want to be involved!

ATHENA Committee: Plans and hosts the ATHENA Awards Celebration, TBF's premier fundraising event. This committee also oversees the processes for nominating and selecting the ATHENA Award recipient according to the criteria established by the ATHENA Foundation.

Communications Committee: The Communications Committee is for you if you have a talent and passion for storytelling/writing, engaging an audience, graphic design, and/or all things social media. Through our social media platforms, as well as internal and external communications, this committee builds awareness of our group and its mission to support local women and create community impact through our philanthropic endeavors.

Community Investment Committee: The Community Investment Committee establishes criteria for our scholarship program and the recipient selection process. CIC is also responsible for planning and implementing the coordination of volunteer activities providing members additional opportunities to get involved in the community.

FUNd Development Committee: This committee puts the FUN back into fundraising. They’re responsible for implementing and coordinating fundraising through raffle programs and special events to benefit TBF's operational funds and TBF’s Scholarship Program.

Membership Committee: Oversees all aspects of TBF's membership eligibility and process including guiding the organization's efforts to identify and attract new members, coordinating member application and renewal, and maintaining criteria for membership.

Program Committee: Plans and oversees the monthly luncheons, the annual networking event and the Fall field trip. They’re responsible for identifying and scheduling speakers, serving as liaison to meeting site, securing event sponsors, providing event details for promotions and coordinating with other committees as needed.

Special Events Committee: Plans and coordinates two special fundraising events -- the ATHENA Young Professional event and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Golf Outing. This committee also oversees the nomination and selection process for ATHENA Young Professional Award.
